Thank you Phil. I know this is going to be an idiotic question. But what is a log post and beam construction? Now I am going to have to dig and see where I can find this book. Do you build log houses or timber frame?
    thanks,

I know digging up an old thread here  But I have always love Timber Framed/Log homes. And when I do buy a piece of property I would love to have this kind of home on it. Can you all recommend any books I should have? I have been doing research on everything so when the time comes I can jump. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Taylor I also enjoy your articles. I wish I could live the dream like you do!!!! The article puts everything in to perspective so to say. I have never really thought of my truck as a tool. But you are right, they are.

That is a good idea Dennis. And John, thanks for the compliments. Idk my buddy has a cummins but I ended up with a 7.3 powerstroke.I just dont like the bigger repair cost!! And if I where to put a diesel in it, I would have to re-gear it, it has 4.88s in the axels lol. She will pull a house down, but gas milage..you just dont look at the gauge lol.

I know i am digging up an old thread here, and sorry if it is taboo on this forum. But I am fixing up an old 74 IH One ton 4×4 flat bed to replace my diesel. Do you guys have any ideas on what i could modify on the flatbed to make it more veristile? Its just a standard flatbed there isnt no boxes or even a goose neck hitch(although that is going to change). I am planning on putting onboard air on it, but I dont what else. So any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chris
