I was hoping to avoid another account and password, but the map is too cool, so it was worth the effort.
dominiquer60ModeratorThanks Ethan, I am glad that there are some young folk interested in working cattle, I know some of them have show mentors, but not really anyone to show them how to properly utilize cattle in a working environment. I will have to catch up with Eli sometime to find out the details.
dominiquer60Moderatorno google account
dominiquer60ModeratorI can’t figure it out either.
dominiquer60ModeratorI hope to be moving to VT on Dec 12th or 13th, so I am note sure that I will be able to make such a call at that time.

dominiquer60ModeratorEthan,
Though I did not attend this year, I am sure that the food alone was worth the cost 🙂
Glad you folks had fun. Does anyone know how the youth and working cattle played out on Saturday morning? Eli told me that there was the potential for a lot of young folk showing up for that day.
dominiquer60ModeratorGreat to have more friends from up north join us. Welcome, look around and ask away!
dominiquer60ModeratorI had that exact same thought last January when I was assigned to the same task of looking for events for the calendar. There are so many out there. I have NY friends in 4 different state and local groups and I can’t seem to get any of them to get interested in DAPNet. It seems like each group has their own thing going on whether showing, trail driving, local farm events etc. and no one really wants to associate with any other group, “show horses can work, but work horses can’t show” seems to be a common thread at times.
I think that a place to start would be to list these organizations on our resource list and try to get as many groups as possible to put a link to our page on their page, an in-kind trade of sorts. We could do more someday, there is a lot of potential, breaking it down to smaller steps can help make it less overwhelming
dominiquer60ModeratorSorry to hear this Carl. He was indeed a good dog and a tough one to replace, it won’t be the same without him around. RIP good buddy!
dominiquer60ModeratorI don’t see an edit option or blue thing.
November 15, 2011 at 1:41 pm in reply to: Logging workshop hosted by Draft Animal Power Network and The Farm School Athol MA #70123dominiquer60ModeratorIs there anyone that is planning to attend this event that would like to take some pictures that we can use on our website and/or be willing to write an article about the event for our upcoming January DAPNet Newsletter? One need not have the skills of a NY Times best sellers list author, just the will and time to do it:) Little things like this can be a really huge help.
Thanks in advance,
dominiquer60ModeratorOriginally the farm and business memberships were separate, farm being $75 and business being $150. Lisa proposed dropping the business cost down to that of the farm membership for the first year to attract members to our online business directory, with the thought that we could always go back up to the original price after the first year. I do think that businesses have more to gain from our business directory than our farm members, but I will go along with what you all think. We should have the $100 level on the paypal also, and there was the intention originally to make the founders feel valued, but I have to plead guilty to letting that slide away, glad it has been brought back up.
dominiquer60ModeratorI don’t recall setting a date at all, with the holidays coming it may be best to set up a doodle right away. I am not sure if you meant to only address the exc. com. but that is my thought on the matter.
dominiquer60ModeratorFall Newsletter is due out this week.
Thank you all who contributed, placed ads and renewed memberships, these newsletters are not possible without the support of many.
Brad brings up an excellent topic of membership renewal. The DAPNet board of directors is working on several projects at the moment, one of which is coming up with an effective and reasonable means of keeping track of memberships, we hope to send some reminders out soon. If you know that it has been over a year since you first joined DAPNet please renew your membership. Here is some more information on how to go about doing so http://www.draftanimalpowernetwork.org/membership.html.
If you enjoy using our free forum DAP.com (this site) and would like to support the cost and maintenance of this site, please join DAPNet. If you would like to receive our quarterly newsletter, be included in event mailings, place free classified ads and receive discounts at our events please consider joining DAPNet. We need your help and support, whether financial or your time, to provide these valuable services to the draft animal community.
Thanks,
dominiquer60ModeratorA one row seeder, Mitch they have my attention. We started that conversation with the pioneer gentleman at the 2009 NEAPFD, and then it continued here. I like what I am hearing so far and can’t wait invite them to demo it at a future NEAPFD. Thanks for the update.
