Where are you located now?
JeanParticipantI just got back from attending the saving seeds program. It was one of those programs that you are having so much fun at you do not realize you are learning anything. It helps that I knew nothing about saving seeds. Here are the key things I learned.
1. Start with open-pollinated plants, not Hybrids, because like mules seeds from a hybrid will not produce another plant.
2. In seed catalogs if it says F1 next to the seeds that is a hybrid
3. buy the book Seed to Seed.
4. saving tomato seeds is smelly and messy
5. saved seeds can live a number of years in the fridge
Great day to be out in the market garden.
JeanParticipantGreat Pictures. Sorry I missed it this year.
JeanParticipantHere they are at Animal Power Field Days
JeanParticipantI have used mine some. It worked pretty good. The ground I was working on had been plowed by draft horses and it was pretty rough, but the cultivator worked good. I just had one mini horse attached to it.
Jean
JeanParticipantIf this was run in the fall I would be interested too. I would be a real novice. Have used a chain saw to buck up logs, but never to cut anything down.
JeanParticipantI am so glad you have received it. Erika was at my house last night and she had not gotten hers yet and she is only a couple hours away. Strange how the postal service works.
JeanParticipantFogish, I have a team of minis that I use around the farm. We move hay, grain, firewood, shavings and we have a little cultivator for the raised beds. I just did a short demo on farming with minis at a big equine event in VT. It was mostly hunter/jumper people, but I had a good crowd watching us. My little gelding loves to work. My mare will work. They are good together. I have some videos of them moving hay if you would like to see them let me know.
JeanJeanParticipantHi, I will be posting a horse and some equipment that have been consigned very soon. We get a load of equipment in that includes new harnesses, tack supplies, buckets, rakes, etc… Plus a large selection of Pioneer equipment and farming equipment. We have 2 auctioneers working at the same time, one inside and one outside.
If you have questions about it please ask me.

GMDHA PresidentJeanParticipantEverybody, your newsletters have gone out. I would be curious how fast they get to Scotland and Canada and what kind of shape they are in when they arrive.
JeanParticipantHolly cow, there are a lot of you!!! Bill, I wondered about you this morning when I discovered I had not moved Jay and Scott over from my Athol weekend. I will get yours out tomorrow.
Kevin, did you pay using PayPal? If so did you get my email asking for your snail mail address if you wanted a paper copy, same question to you Mike. Please email your mailing address to jmnvt@yahoo.com if you want a paper copy.
Anybody else please let me know. I will mail them out ASAP.
Jean
JeanParticipantScott and Jay I will have yours in the mail today. Sorry, I did not move your names over from the Athol event into the membership tab. My fault. John, I do not have your address, but if you email it to me I will get you a copy out as well. My email address is jmnvt@yahoo.com
Very sorry to all of you!
Jean
JeanParticipantNever even heard of them, but would like to see some pictures.
JeanParticipantSo sorry John. My thoughts are with you.
JeanJeanParticipantBill, when you make your beer from sap do you substitute all the water with sap? Hoping to make a batch this year, but I am new to beer making.
