Waiting for minutes to be posted so I can update the website.

That’s not you. Older photos will sometimes be deleted by members to make room for new attachments as there is only a certain amount of space per member. So those links will not open completely.

Your login might be timing out. When you log in click the ‘remember me’ button. Let me know if the problem persists.

Thanks, Andy. Though I am no longer a board member, I have to say, I agree with you wholeheartedly and I believe the future of DAPNet is in developing the network. So I’m so happy to hear your perspective. Great to have you on board, Andy! Good stuff!

Sounds like you and she are communicating better. We all (horses and humans) feel better about work when we understand what is expected. I’m enjoying hearing about your progress with your mare…

Hey Hunter…. It would certainly help to have an experienced teamster over to see exactly what is going on, but it sounds like a simple matter of getting your communication with you mare tuned up. If she hasn’t been out for awhile, her behavior is pretty typical in my experience and improves alot with repetition and some sweat under the collar.

When I hook to a log, I drive the horse right up to the log so his nose in on the spot I am going to hook my chain on. This helps alot with encouraging them to stand still (facing away from home and the skid) and allows them to see what you are doing. Then I gee or haw them around and back them to the log to hook on.

    Where are you located?

I’ll be with you all in spirit.

Forward on (or include in the minutes) new officer information and meeting schedules and I will update the websites.

Also a reminder I need photos from new Board members (except Rick T) for the website.

This is a great site, but we may have been idling for a while. There is a strong core group here that could take Andy’s comments to heart and use this site more aggressively to develop community, as well as keeping alive the reason we keep coming here, to learn from each other. Some times all we have time for is to read a few posts, and to post or reply to a pertinent thread. If we want to continue to breath fresh life into this forum and the surrounding community, then we may need to stretch a little bit more time, and ramp up the volume, and broaden the content…….

Would you like me to reactivate your administrator privileges?:p

I must say, being the administrator on this sight with the daily tedium of monitoring new members for spam and so forth, has really taken me away from being active in most discussions. I miss that and hope to get back into a more active role, now that my responsibilities of the Board are freed up.

I can assure you there is no censorship here….hell, I can barely keep up with what you all are talking about, lol. As long as you are not selling phones, iPads or exotic vacations, you’ll get no grief from me…

Thanks, Jim. I plan to bring him up to the LIF course again this year, so if you have interested loggers, let them know that.

Did I miss something, again? What’s happening in VA in October? Are you heading to the HHFF?

Definitely not a healthy choice to be working in these stands when the wind is blowing, even slightly. These snags can come down fast with absolutely no warning, or wind, as it is anyway.

I’m getting tired of looking like I work in a coal mine everytime I go out to fell timber now…

Maybe you will consider coming east again this fall for LIF or the Athol workshop…..where its alittle safer…just sayin.

They were full Brabants….Neal Perry’s new team. The mare is bred to Neal’s Morgan stallion, Ben…so there may be a morgan/brabant cross on the way. Very nice team!
