I wonder if Woodcraft Supply in Parkersburg, WV, buys locally? They sure sell basswood.
There is a place up here in Dodgeville, WI that buys from a neighbour of ours, every two years they thin his woods for basswood. They like 6″ and up.

When do you want the book money? Google image of your place isn’t clear like areas nearby. Nice area though. Possum Trot!! There’s a painting/print on the wall at Buddy Squirrel’s barbecue place with a cool possum trot cabin. Two buildings, one a house, the other a shop, joined by a porch and roofed over. My dream home!

You down on Possum Trot Road or near the intersection? I was at 324 Evans, it’s been covered over with boards now.

    Cindy,
That’s very cool! Great place to live. I remember coming home one evening and the TN volunteers youth were marching along the road. I admired that to no end. Being brought up AMERICAN and proving it.

    God bless you all.

I just looked up some friends on White pages. Computer guy in Kingston and some others over in Lenoir. Might have to take trip south to pick up the books and visit friends.

Just north of the Paint Rock store a mile and a half. Nice old log house, tin roof and a barn. Neighbours had a big grape vineyard they never worked with, a shame. Lots of good jelly from there. Other neighbours made wine from it. Love the caving down there.

I’ll be darned. Which direction? I lived SE, about ten miles as the crow flies, lot longer when he was driving through the kudzu.

    Merry Christmas.

    Cindy,
I’ll take two then. If no one wants more, I’ll take four on speculation.

    God bless.

    Mike

    Merry Christmas all.

I used to live in Kingston when I worked at Oak Ridge on a project.
