    All,
I am putting a delay on each step in order to accomodate everyone in the field. As Carl said, we have a broad audience and I want to be assured that everyone that is involved has had a chance to come in from the woods, grab a cup of coffee, and sit down at the ‘puter.

Please don’t use the phrase “analysis paralysis”. That is a phrase that makes us spit fire out here, even though I’m a professional land manager. Having been on both sides of the skid trail in a big way there are certain aspects of management that drive us nuts. Having answers before you go forward is a good thing, throwing up roadblocks for the sake of throwing up roadblocks is not.

Don’t overlook your State Logging Assoc. Often that is one of the primary reasons they exist is for a pooled insurance program. Liability is usually calculated on your annual gross. Without workcomp you can probably find yourself a very reasonable rate for liability alone, right in line with what folks have already mentioned.

    Very nice work, Aaron.

You can still buy keg shoes with toe & heel calks, toe and quarter clips are drawn just like you did. Even with keg shoes I’m a firm believer in hot shoeing.

    J-L,
Ranch chore races are the highlights of our draft shows at the Larimer & Weld County Fairs! They run them side by side to add to the excitement/competitive spirit. Great event!

    Taylor,

Marketing efficacy is a huge part of what this organization will be working on. Hold that thought; we will be coming back to it very soon.

BTW, is the new baby here yet?

Welcome, Taylor! When you have time read the past postings/threads on this organizational forum so you’re up to speed with where we are at.

    Looking forward to your input!

    Geir,
I don’t use a pad to protect the collar I use it to protect the horse, especially for hard pulls. I imagine having a barrier to the salt might help somewhat.
The pad I started using is one with vinyl on the inside (horse side), standard fabric on the outside, and deer hair stuffing. “They” claim the vinyl won’t sore the shoulders as bad. I’ve never had major issues with sore shoulders, but not having a wringing wet pad on the horse is nice.

Draft Animal Powered Forestry International (DAPFI)

I’ll gather all of the decisions soon for a final vote on the entire package.

Sorry Gents, PBR just doesn’t do much for me. It has gotten to the point where other rough stock events in Rodeo have taken a back seat. Use to be cowboys, cowgirls, and wranglers competed in Rodeos. Don’t see as much of that in PBR these days. A lot of money and glitz and not much more than a general public hoping somebody’s gonna get stomped. Don’t get me wrong, these guys are great athletes and the breeding on bulls has went up a few notches but it doesn’t resemble the true Rodeos I grew up with.

I’d much rather watch team roping and bareback & saddle bronc any day.

Some of the best events were the community jackpot ropings that were common in every little town out here. I use to earn some decent pocket change when I was a kid working the chute.

    Carl, all,
I’d like to see Taylor Johnson on here. Whomever you add should be told to read the past threads so they are up to speed.

Let’s let it hang out there for awhile and see if we get any more input. If not, we’ll go with what we have.

Like I have said for past political elections; if you didn’t vote don’t be upset with the results.
