Here is a link to a google map that anyone should be able to edit. Just go to the link, click the edit button, click on the blue arrow thing at the top of the screen and put it where you are. Make sure to click “Save” when you’re done. If this works out well we could embed a map like this into the website.
Ethan,
I get a prompt asking me what program I want to use to open the MS file. Which one should I use?
Thanks,

….. it is still probably the first house on the right after you pass Anderson road going west on Pleasant hill. It’s a log house set back probably 100 yards off the road with alot of outbuildings. I never lived at this place, and don’t really know the neighbors. I do know there are (or at least used to be) some greenhouses when you go up Anderson road. Is this the Mason place? Dad probably knows them esp since they have cattle too, ask them when you see them again if they know Bob. It is a small world, but also a sparsely populated state :)…..
The greenhouses are the Mason’s and I think I did meet your dad once – he was going to run his cows over at Mason’s place and was over there doing some fencing I think.

November 21, 2011 at 3:20 pm #54625Scott GParticipantJust install a hyper link on the front page. For example,”The Map” could be the hyperlink.

Yep, I think Geoff is working on that….
November 21, 2011 at 11:53 pm #54658Michel BoulayParticipantIf I’m using Internet Explorer do I have to register and then sign in? Ethan when I go to the link I have the world map on the right and on the left Dapnet with blue tabs and those who have maped there location. Can’t find edit on that page. Have tried everything that I know of clicked on everything right clik here and there and nope nothing? Is it internet explorer?
MikeNovember 22, 2011 at 12:32 am #54638near horseParticipantMike – the EDIT button should be to the right of the top of the member locations list you see. Not top right of the map but top right of the list. Explorer shouldn’t be a problem either
As far as the hyper link goes – not sure why I can’t get it to work.
Okay – now it works but I’ll leave this “alternative” route (through this thread) up for awhile since the direct link wouldn’t function correctly when I was using my wife’s Mac laptop and running Safari as a browser. Explorer seemed to handle the direct link fine – I’ll try Mozilla here in a bit.
BTW – I took the “liberty” of removing the double posts on the map. Hope no one is offended.
Last – try the direct link and let me know if it works for you or not. If not, note what browser you’re using as well as the version but make sure to let me know and we’ll try and remedy the problem. It’s too nice of a tool/toy to miss out on.

Worked for me with Firefox 7.0.1

November 23, 2011 at 2:05 pm #54659Michel BoulayParticipantHi Geoff,
on the upper right of the members list I have “save to my places”. When I click that it asks me to sign in. My browser is internet explorer 8. Could be there is a setting that is not enable. I’ll keep on looking.
MikeNovember 23, 2011 at 2:49 pm #54644dominiquer60ModeratorI can’t figure it out either.
November 23, 2011 at 3:35 pm #54675Ethan TapperParticipantIf you can’t get to it you can send anyone who has access to it (including me) your email address and we should be able to allow you directly by clicking the “collaborate” button and entering your email in there.
Another thing to try would be to sign in (top right on map) with whatever email service you have and then try it.
November 23, 2011 at 3:49 pm #54626Scott GParticipantDo those of you that are having issues have a Google account?
November 23, 2011 at 4:45 pm #54660Michel BoulayParticipantNo, no google account.
