Thanks Ed,
We made flower beds with hemlock 6x6x10′ green yup very heavy. Did you settle on 16′ long for your deck and how wide? I was thinking of cutting a 6×6 in two so 2 pieces of 3×6 probably not as strong as your 3.5×8. I’m paying $1.80/foot for 6×6 hemlock so 28.80 for a 16 footer. Don’t know if its a good price compared to a mill down your way but that’s what the mill sells them for here. I calculated the price in bf and found 6 cents a bf so that would be a good price I think. Sort of makes you think of the possibilities, as long as your sized wood is strong enough for the load.Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantHey Ed,
That deck looks real good. What kind of wood did you finaly use and size of beams, cross beams or joist? I’ve got a friend that sold me a wagon and he’s keeping the deck to put it on an other wagon so I’ll have to build a deck. I’ve got access to a little sawmill and wood from my property or rough sawn lumber from a close by Mill. I don’t think i’ve got that much hemlock but spruce yes. That sliding pole is a good idea too.Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantHey Mitch, not to much difference between NB & Maine, were at lat.46.2 and 50ft and the feilds are growing real good with all that rain plus a day here and there of sun. Will have to get a couple of weeks of hot dry weather to dry the ground and have a good five days of sun wind to make good hay, its pretty wet here its like spring staying a lot longer. Pretty much everybody around here use tedders, weather is to unpredictable to not use one. When your raking or tedding in good hay weather and the tires are wet its not always good. Having a hard time to get in the 70’s so its not really drying weather. But aint haying fun though. Hope everybody can make good hay. Have a great summer guys.
MikeMichel BoulayParticipantVideo came out good Jim, awsome. Now I know why you get your truck load completed so fast those are good size logs.

Michel BoulayParticipantI use a 21LP chisel tooth. Oregon 20-series chisel LPX saw chain. Good chain and has a witness mark, help with sharpening. I use a gage or file guide that fits on the chain, then you insert the file in and on rolers all you have to do is go back and fort, the gage has the pitch and angle, neat gage makes it easy to file your chain. No name on it and is made in Sweden, its black and 2×2 inches. My Small engines repair guy that sold it to me. Do any of you know of such gage, or file guide? Will google and try and find some info.

Michel BoulayParticipantThat is some cool project you’ve got there, anxious to see the results. Would love to participate but distance is a factor here.

Michel BoulayParticipantFigured pretty much how it worked. So depending on how they fall in the sled you can have between 6 and 8 then you pull the trip rope. Check this site http://www.tubeline.ca go see the accumul8. Go in the media section and look at the video. Probably would be expensive but kind of makes me curious to how a person could figure how to make something like that.
Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantCool set up. Wondering how many rows of bales does it make? Also how do you direct the bales to go left, right and middle? Is there somebody standing on or following the baler to direct the bales?
Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantIs that a problem only related to ipad’s only or to macs also?
Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantHi Rod,
you have to create an account then sign in, then you can register your place on the map and edit if you have to.
Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantIs that straw mulch? What are the little flags for? Curious here. Never did have luck with garlic. Did you ever plant garlic in the fall versus spring and if so which do you prefer? Would like to plant some, right now for us it would be a good time to think about it. Your about a good month ahead of us in planting time.
Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantGot it this week also, looking forward to read it. All kinds of info in there. GREAT!
Mike
Michel BoulayParticipantThanks Gabe! Great job your doing here. Getting use to the site. Not sure what tags and attributes are down below here? Is there a Help tab on the site where you can find out how to do something? Just wondering out loud here.
Happy Easter! Have a great day.

I’ve looked up there site more than once and like what they do, compact, ease of handleling… A lot of the time building is more of trial and error and time consuming before we hit it right on, and here all of that is done for you, just pay the money. Over here a bit more money and you’ve got the loader with it, definitly food for thaught. Hard to put everything in words on a forum:rolleyes:. I still like the challenge of building one though.
Went to that farm mech. show yesterday, Anderson, Wallenstein and Woody loaders there, small and mid size. The Anderson had a price of 14500$ loader+trailer, the Woody I was quoted for 8000$ for loader only both 11.5 feet reach. I’m sure prices can vary on the less side here. Talk to one of the dealers about your dozer+loader hook up, since there is a winch there the dozer must be reinforced in that area and then it would be to figure out how to hook the loader, the boom would have to swing up front for transport, maybe not???Priced some tires & rims for the SV5, wasn’t sure the size they had on, but on sale 80$. Could go with smaller ones, didn’t check load on tires though. Brain storming here. Let us know what is going on Carl.
