Carl BY the way saw the pics he is the kind of built horse I am looking to breed to even tho not a Percheron at this point breed does not matter to me anymore it is more about size and build [short and thick] my mares are 16-1 & 16-2 16 -1700 lbs Percheron
BillLivewater FarmParticipantCarl quite the haul to get 2 mares bred 250+ miles one way from Vermont
BILLLivewater FarmParticipantCarl where in NY are you can you post any pics of the stud
BillLivewater FarmParticipantJay we have boiled 3 times already making a light medium grade syrup sap should run next couple of days season should last till its over
BillLivewater FarmParticipantI have never felt that Jan sap made a good tasting syrup but what is the norm today
used to be syrup made around presidents day was early tapping out on town meeting week was the norm
averything now is for production of a newly created commodity maple syrup todays market wants dark syrup
used to be we prided ourselves on the lightest syrup we could make new grading system has eliminated a grade altogether and run the color into the remaining 3 grades
some dealerswill not even buy fancy syrup anymorethey want to trade light for dark3/4 of our crop is till light syrup cant stand making that dark motor oil
TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING

Livewater FarmParticipantMike we are downsizing and moving in new directions forecart has always worked well for me have used my 16 ft 4 star tedder and 10 ft rotary rake regularly with it with a team of 3400lb horses only thing I have wanted to do is put a a rail up in the front of deck so I could stand at times never got around to it easy enough job if one can weld some pipe
this is a good constructed rugged cart that will handle the weight of modern tractor pto equipment
safe to mount and the one feature I like over the I%J carts is you do not have to get down under the cart to hitch your equipment it is set up more like a tractor with the hitch point behind not under the cart I feel it is safer and easier to work with mounting the cart is safely done with plenty of hand holds and you sit up above your horses with good sight
over all a good design was well ahead of its time in when developed horesmen just did not want to spend money on quality equipment so company was sold over to Russia I believe
